Mother Teresa of Calcutta, recognized throughout the world for her work among the poorest of the poor and was beatified October 19, 2003. Among those present were hundreds of Missionaries of Charity, the order she founded in 1950 as a diocesan religious community.
For the next four decades, Mother Teresa worked tirelessly on behalf of the poor. Her love knew no bounds. Nor did her energy, as she criss crossed the globe pleading for support and inviting others to see the face of Jesus in the poorest of the poor. In 1979, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. On September 5, 1997, God called her home. Last September 4, 2016 she was canonized by Pope Francis.
Following her beatification, on December 17, 2015 Pope Francis announced a second miracle had been attributed to the intercession of Mother Teresa. The miracle involved a Brazilian man who was afflicted with tumors who was miraculously cured.
And yesterday another miracle happened. This involved a baby who was thought dead by the Doctor and then she prayed to Mother Teresa and miraculously the baby began to open her eyes and cried then the breathing became stable. They named the baby as Maria Teresa.
